It’s that time of year when skin could do with an extra boost to stay hydrated. Heat, stress and pollution can all take their toll on our face. It’s important to nourish your skin, particularly at this time of year. Here are some great Summer skincare tips that will help you to transform your skin.
Summer Skincare Tips
1. Use an oil-free and fragrance-free SPF all day over your entire face and body.
2. Switch to light oil free creams and serums as your skin will be producing more sebum which may otherwise lead to clogged pores.
3. Try blotting paper instead of powdering your face, it will give a wonderful dewy complexion.
4. Remember your neck and décolletage – they also need cleansing and moisturizing to look their best.

5. Exfoliate regularly to remove dead skin cells, 1-2 times a week is advisable. Avoid using body and facial scrubs with coarse granules, instead choose an exfoliant with fine silica granules or AHAs.
6. Don’t forget your hands – try to exfoliate them a few times a week, use a rich moisturiser and always apply an SPF. I’m certainly going to put this into practice.
7. Look after your upper arms – I wasn’t aware that around 40% of the population suffer from Keratosis Pilaris, the little red bumps on the back of your upper arms. It’s a genetic condition but you can minimize it by daily exfoliation or by using a natural body brush and moisturizing with a vitamin and AHA rich cream.
8. Prepare your skin internally before hitting the sun. Eat anti-oxidants such as brightly coloured vegetables, anti-inflammatories such as avocado and mackerel and consider taking MSM supplements.

What a real treat, Suze! I LOVE a good facial – I feel really relaxed, refreshed and calm after them (and the fact that my skin looks better is a real bonus too…!). That pool looks glorious – amazing to think it’s there even though it’s in the middle of busy London!

Never had an OSKIA facial but I am certainly open to trying new things. Amazing that you also fitted in a swim. xx
I’m trying to get fit before Bali! Like your new pic, Zoe
Never heard of this company, but it seems like you had a great experience there. And they had some wonderful tips to share. I’m always going to the store and stand in front of the skin-care products all like: “okay… There are about 40 types of day cream… Which one should be good for me?” Love the tip about getting the non-oily products. My beautician also told me that. I’ve a few places in my face which can be a bit problematic sometimes. Therefore I’m using tea tree products and a peeling/scrub/facial mask combination product I got from my beaucian
It’s a bit overwhelming isn’t it! Non-oily products work well for me as I’ve got such combination skin and tea tree oil is a great tip, I actually like the distinctive smell of that too!
What a lovely, relaxing experience! I will definitely be using those summer skincare tips – they will be useful to me all year round in Qatar!
