Most Beautiful Villages in the World

If you are wondering what is the difference between a village and a town, the latter has local government and fixed boundaries. Villages are small, rural communities with a population varying from a few hundred to a few thousand people.

These are some of the prettiest villages worldwide. You can live in all of them apart from one, which is a movie set.

In this list, we’re focusing on picturesque little villages rather than beautiful small towns such as Ceský Krumlov or Sidi Bou Said. Those will be the subject of another article.

    1. There are so many other picturesque villages in Greece that you haven’t mentioned. For example :
Nymfaio, Zagorochoria, Fiskardo, oxilithos-kymi, Agios Gordios, kalambaka…all in Greece.

      San Gimignano, Monterrigioni in Italy….or

Pissouri, Laneia, Lofou, Platres, Drousshia, Terra ….in Cyprus!

    2. Thanks for the suggestions, Haris, we’ll look them up! We were originally going to include San Gimignano however according to Wikipedia it’s a town rather than a village. We’ve been to Lofou and agree, it’s stunning

    3. Great suggestion, Day, we’ve been to Ubud and were going to include it originally but according to Wikipedia it’s a town.
