Have you ever been tempted by a professional photo shoot? After experiencing one in Rome, we were keen to do another couples shoot but this time to enjoy a London photoshoot experience. It can be hard choosing the right photographer with so many options available.
Luckily for us, Flytographer made things a lot easier. They work closely with local photographers in over 190 cities. Each of these photographers showcases examples of previous shoots on the site, giving you a good idea of their style.
Fun London Photoshoot Experience
We were looking for someone who specialized in a very natural street-style of photography. With our love of all things colourful, we naturally gravitated towards an East London setting and wanted someone who was used to shooting there.

The photographer who stood out on both counts was Mairéad. Originally from Ireland, her portfolio included some fantastic couples photos shot in and around Spitalfields and Shoreditch.

Once we had an idea of where we wanted the shoot to take place, the actual booking process couldn’t have been easier, we were even assigned a Shoot Concierge to fine tune our London photoshoot experience! Sounds rather grand, doesn’t it.
In fact Tedi made the whole experience simple, explaining each step and confirming the shoot time and meet up point. She also made sure that we had each other’s contact details in case of any issues on the day.
We’d been advised to coordinate our outfits in some way, and we both wore something turquoise on the day – a retro inspired dress for me and a silk handkerchief for Paul.

Mairéad was waiting for us bright and early in Shoreditch – one of my favorite areas in London to take photos. The idea had been to get sunrise shots but the grey London weather hadn’t played ball.
Undeterred, we’d set off with a variety of props including a vintage style radio bag and a brolly. You know you’re becoming obsessed with photography when you carry an umbrella purely for the photo opportunities, with no sign of rain on the horizon ;-).

She instantly put us at ease and knew the area well, steering us towards some vibrant walls that made a great backdrop. What I particularly appreciated was the fact that she gave us clear direction on how to stand and also injected some movement into the shoot.

All in all, we really enjoyed our London photoshoot experience with Flytographer and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it, as well as our photographer, Mairéad. It’s actually a great way to get to know a new area or to revisit one through fresh eyes.
A London photoshoot would make a great present for friends or family or for yourself and prices start at $250 for a 30 minute session.
What do you think of the end result? Where would your dream photo shoot take place?

This is such a good idea; I absolutely love the concept along with how you’re assigned a ‘shoot concierge’! The photos came out wonderfully – and the Shoreditch setting works perfectly.

Yes the coordinating colours was almost an afterthought but I’m glad we managed it! A nice idea to do it for an engagement
Our photographer did a really great job, Candice
I love these colourful walls and how you matched the dress with the blue. I want to see them for real at some point. Lovely photos; a nice souvenir to have!
I can definitely point you in the right direction
What a fun idea and you have some superb pictures I love that you are colour coordinated with the art and the umbrella a great addition. You look like you both enjoyed it which is always the sign of a good photographer Lucy x
That’s true, Lucy, a good photographer should always put their subjects at ease and Mairead definitely succeeded
Oh wow. Totally in love with that third photo of you two!
And your dress is such a nice colour! x

It was a lot of fun, Miriam! We don’t have enough photos together so I was really pleased with these
I think it’s a great idea to do!! however to be honest I also think that 250$ for 30 min is a little bit pricey..
