5 Quick and Easy Joe Wicks Recipes

It’s time to get healthy, and we’re sharing 5 quick and easy Joe Wicks recipes for making nutritious yet tasty juices. Joe, known as The Body Coach, has teamed up with Philips juicers to make juicing easier for everyone.

If you’re looking for a great way to get an extra hit of nutrients and vitamins, then juicing is the perfect solution. It’s simple to incorporate into your daily lifestyle and you’ll reap the benefits very quickly.

Joe Wicks is well known for his 90 Day Plan and Lean In 15 and has been working with Philips to dispel some common misconceptions about juicing via a Real Juice Truths report. Not only that, he’s developed some fantastic juicing recipes, of which I’m including five for you.

Juicing Myths

Myth 1 – Juices are full of sugar and bad for your teeth!
Some of the cheap concentrated juices sold in supermarkets are packed with sugar and have been sitting on the shelves for months. Their bottling process can lead to a reduction of 15-35% in vitamin C. By making your own juice, you can easily include more vegetables, reducing the sugar content.

Myth 2 – Juicing is good for a quick fix/rapid weight loss
I kind of wish this was true ;-). However juicing is the perfect way to give your body a lot of essential vitamins and minerals and will certainly help stave off hunger pangs.

Myth 3 – Blending is better for you than juicing
Blending and juicing benefit the body in different ways. Research from University College of London actually recommends eating up to ten fruit and vegetables a day. Juicing certainly makes it easier to achieve that.

Myth 4 – Vegetable juice tastes terrible!
It’s true that some juices can taste rather bitter, however if you have a sweet tooth you can add ingredients such as apples, carrots, pears or watermelons. I also find that adding ginger, lime or mint really adds a lot of flavour.

Myth 5 – Juicing is expensive
Philips juicers start at £70, whilst the Avance Juicer that we trialled retails at £150. Considering the cost of juice in stores, where a small one can easily cost £4, it should pay for itself very quickly. As for the ingredients, you can use up leftovers such as carrots, and you can also save money by buying fresh produce at local markets.

Juicing Machine Review

Our Philips juicer was a doddle to assemble and had quite a few clever features. There’s a drip stop integrated in the spout which prevents any juice from dripping onto your work surface.

You can make up to 2.5 litres of juice in one go and the innovative extraction system with an upside down sieve extracts up to 10% more juice. There are two speeds, for soft or hard fruit and vegetables and the 700 watte motor makes light work of all of them.

I’ve never had a juicer before but my husband used to have one and he was really impressed with the fact that you don’t need to pre-cut anything.

How To Use A Juicer

Of course, you’ll need to remove the stones from fruits such as plums, nectarines or peaches. The 80 mm extra large feeding tube allows you to juice even large fruit and vegetables like apples, beetroots, carrots and pears without pre-cutting.

Once you’re ready to start juicing, you just switch on the juicer to your preferred speed and put your first item in the funnel, then you simply place the pusher on top and push down with one or both hands.

You don’t need any strength to do this, the machine does all the work. Juice will start dripping through the spout into the jug, ready for tasting. The only thing left to do is to pour it into a glass.

After enjoying your juice, it’s really easy to clean the machine in 1 minute. The pulp will all be collected in the container so you don’t need to remove pulp from other parts such as the lid.

All surfaces of the sieve are smooth, and you can wipe away the fibres with a standard kitchen sponge.

  3. I like juices but have not been drinking them lately. I don’t like to wash every single part of my juicer. Next time I’ll try to replace fruit for ginger and lime as you did.

    1. Yes I was surprised how quickly I got used to less sweet juices! Have a lovely weekend Danielle

  4. How cool, Joe is the reason I got hooked on juicing. I really think it’s amazing as long as you don’t include too much fruit. xx

    1. Oh that’s really interesting Ashleigh, I should probably try his exercises as well as the juicing!

  5. I love juicing, I’ve been doing it forever! They genuinely taste so much better than anything you can get at the store, plus all the nutrients and enzymes are retained by doing it at home <3 I have to try your Zesty Zinger recipe!

    1. That’s so true, it tastes much better and it’s way better for you – enjoy the Zesty Zinger!

  6. You know, I LOVE juicing, but my only complaint is the cleanup. I have a Brevil, and I swear, it takes me a solid 20 minutes to scrub the thing clean afterwards! I’ll clearly have to look into this brand, it seems like a much easier time with the cleaning!:-)

    1. This is much quicker and there’s no scrubbing, it just comes off with water and a gentle wipe thankfully

  7. This has reminded me that I definitely don’t use my juicer enough. Love the sound of the Zesty Zinger!

  14. A great way to get additional vegetables and vitamins in one go, I like the idea of making more and storing in the fridge to have during the week. This looks like a great juicer Lucy x

  15. I haven’t juiced before, I am more of a smoothie person since I like the fiber from the fruit and vegetables — this helps with the sugar content. Thanks for sharing, I’d love to try juicing 🙂
