Who knew Balmain did hair?

Who knew that the iconic French fashion house, Balmain, had a luxury hairstyling line? I  I certainly didn’t and I used to live in France. They are however known for their French couture, bags and Ivoire perfume. So I was particularly intrigued to try out their mositurizing care kit. My hair has taken one too many sun sessions and was in desperate need of some TLC.

Their new Styling line is inspired by the backstage activity at their own fashion shows, and developed with a team of session stylists.

My care kit arrived promptly and was beautifully packaged in a box with tissue paper.

Inside was nestled a repair mask, moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. The products are enriched with organic argan oil and silk protein to repair and rejuvenate hair, but would they live up to their claims?

I liked the feel of the products and they are not heavily perfumed which is a plus. They last a long time too, I’ve been trialling the same set for 3 months now, so they’re definitely good value for money. The shampoo lathers up nicely and leaves my hair squeaky clean with no product residue.

I found the repair mask to be particularly effective – my hair felt smooth even before drying and it has definitely helped counteract too much time in the sun.

I sometimes use the conditioner in tandem with the repair mask if I feel that my hair is looking particularly dry and it does seem to make my hair softer and easier to style.

All in all, these are quality products that live up to the hype.
