Summer calls for light yet delicious drinks. A rose spritz is just perfect! Here’s a quick and easy rose spritz recipe that you can make in next to no time.
What is Rose Spritz?
Rose spritz is a fantastic combination of sparkling wine, rose liqueur or vermouth, soda and grapefruit juice. Low in alcohol and calories, this spritzer drink is great for Summer entertaining.
Conjuring up memories of European vacations, this easy rose wine cocktail is made to be sipped at your leisure.
Wine spritzers have less calories than drinks such as a gin and tonic, thanks to the soda and low alcohol content. They’re also extremely refreshing on a hot day.

Rose Spritzer Ingredients
For the rose element of this spritzer, you can use rose liqueur or rose aperitivo. We have a preference for the latter, as it’s not too sweet and has a delicate yet aromatic flavour.
We’ve used Hotel Starlino Rose Aperitivo for this recipe. Created by Hotel Starlino’s vermouth master, Beppe Ronco, Starlino Vermouth is a delicious blend of botanicals, rose wine, Italian pink grapefruit, lemon and orange.
The vintage style bottle with its ceramic stopper is inspired by the Art Deco architecture of Starlino’s factory near Turin, Italy.

Prosecco, Champagne or sparkling wine is an important ingredient for rose spritzers. The sparkling wine that you choose doesn’t have to be Italian, but should be a fairly dry wine.
Using Rosé Prosecco is ideal as this Italian sparkling wine won’t compete with the flavor of the mixers. A rose Prosecco cocktail will make you feel like you’re in Italy! You could also make this spritzer with Brut Champagne if you like.
Just bear in mind that this spritzer will have quite a pale color. If you want a very pronounced rose color, use rose sparkling wine instead of Prosecco.
Soda water is another essential rose sprit ingredient. Also known as club soda or seltzer, this is simply water infused with carbon dioxide to make sparkling water.

Rose Spritz Garnishes
For this particular recipe, we chose a grapefruit wedge to complement the flavor of the Italian pink grapefruit in the rose aperitivo. However, any of these rose spritz garnishes would work very well:
- Dried rosebuds
- Orange slice
- Sprig of fresh mint
- Sprig of fresh rosemary
- Sprig of fresh thyme
How to Make a Rose Spritz
For this easy rose wine spritzer recipe, use three parts Prosecco or sparkling wine to one part soda and one part rose aperitivo.
If you have a cocktail shaker, mix all the ingredients up using it. Otherwise, stir the drink well with a long spoon.
To make this rose spritzer even more refreshing, add some ice. Depending on how diluted you like your cocktails, use ice cubes or crushed ice.

Ice cubes will melt slower, while crushed ice will instantly cool your rosé cocktail. Cracked ice is an intermediary solution, made by whacking ice cubes placed inside a clean towel with a hard object like a rolling pin or skillet.
