Win 2 Nights at The Chatwal – A New York Landmark

New York needs no introduction – its famous for its tourist attractions, eclectic cuisine and vibrant nightlife. When we last visited New York, we were impressed with the striking Art Deco architecture. One of the most iconic of these buildings is The Chatwal New York and its famous Lambs Club. This 1905 masterpiece is now a luxurious five star hotel and club that is part of Starwood’s exclusive Luxury Collection. We’re giving one lucky reader the chance to win 2 nights at The Chatwal, a New York landmark, so that they can experience it for themselves.

Located on 44th Street in the heart of the Theatre District, it’s just steps away from Broadway and Fifth Avenue. The building was designed by Stanford White and originally home to the famous Lambs Club, which has been revived today. The first American theatre club had some illustrious members including Charlie Chaplin and Fred Astaire – if only those walls could talk! An impressive 18th century floor-to-ceiling fireplace has been reinstated in the 80 seat restaurant, together with chrome fittings and red leather banquettes.

Renowned Chef Geoffrey Zakarian has created a modern American menu using the very best seasonal ingredients. There’s also a fabulous mezzanine lounge overlooking the entrance hall. Graced with floor to ceiling windows, it’s a great spot to enjoy Prohibition inspired cocktails and live jazz music.

the_lobby_bar_the_chatwalThe brainchild of hotelier Vikram Chatwal and master architect and designer Thierry Despont, its a Manhattan gem. Thierry has worked on the restoration of the Foyer and restaurant of Claridge’s, the galleries at the J. Paul Getty Center in Los Angeles and the centennial restoration of the Statue of Liberty. He took inspiration from 18th century luxury trunk designers to create a truly luxurious ambiance. The Art Deco facade has been lovingly restored and chrome and leather details have been added. Its 76 guest rooms all have complimentary internet access, Asprey amenities, handmade Shiftman mattresses and 400-thread count Frette linen.

chatwal-DeluxeGuestroomDecorated with suede-covered walls and leather wrapped furniture, they include some unusual extras…There’s a complimentary butler service, a private bar, custom playing cards, a backgammon set and hardback books. Guests can also borrow a laptop or preprogrammed iPod during their stay. Several of the rooms have amazing roof terraces, like the 1200 square foot one in the Producer Suite.

The_Chatwal_Producer_Suite_Roof_DeckAs for the stylish bathrooms, they include jacuzzi baths or rain drop showers and mirror televisions.

the_chatwal_guest_bathroomGuests also receive complimentary access to the indoor lap pool and 24 hour fitness centre. There’s also a Red Door Salon and Spa featuring Elizabeth Arden treatments and products. You can certainly see why The Chatwal New York has been named one of the top 10 Best Hotels in New York in the 2016 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards.
